"You Don't Bring Me Flowers" is a personal collage series born during the pandemic, exploring themes of femininity, beauty, and desire. It juxtaposes vintage nude photography with vases of flowers, challenging romantic ideals and the male gaze. Pin-up girls, with exaggerated curves and seductive poses, contrast against the traditional symbolism of flowers, questioning societal expectations of women and the construction of feminine ideals.
Each piece evokes confinement, mirroring my pandemic isolation while bridging past and present. Though the isolation has ended, this ongoing series continues to examine personal identity, societal roles, and emotional landscapes. Through these collages, I invite viewers to reflect on how shared and individual experiences shape our perceptions of beauty, desire, and self.
